The program provides books for disadvantaged children with little or nothing to read. Sweet Charity was created and is co-hosted by Albert Uster Imports, an importer and distributor of fine gourmet foods. The proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction will help replenish under-resourced libraries and classrooms in the greater Washington region. In 2008 more than 60 participating chefs actively applied Albert Uster Imports chocolate to design fanciful chocolate fashions. Models and their clothing were decorated predominantly with chocolate, a metaphor for every child’s sweetness and innate potential.
