Mexican Table Cooking Series with Patricia Jinich:

Join us on a culinary voyage to explore the way in which Mexico’s most iconic couple, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, celebrated one of Mexico's most important holidays: Independence Day.

Our charismatic and talented in-house chef, Patricia Jinich, will prepare a meal enjoyed by Frida and Diego and characteristic of the celebrations, all while explaining the Mexican traditions and stories of the holiday. You will try Chiles en Nogada, poblano peppers stuffed with seasoned meat and fruit, covered in a silky walnut sauce and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, a favorite dish of Independence day for its seasonal ingredients and patriotic Mexican colors (green, white and red). After the class, enjoy a full tasting dinner with drinks and live music, a recipe booklet, and Mexican ingredients to get you started in your own kitchen.

$70:00 Price includes class, full dinner with drinks, recipes, Mexican ingredients, and live music.
Deadline for registration: September 17th
Via Pay Pal at www.instituteofmexicodc.org, or send a check to the Mexican Cultural Institute.
