Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation® is the nation's premier culinary benefit, featuring top chefs and mixologists -- all of whom are coming together to donate their time, talent and passion to end childhood hunger in America.

Themed “A New Washington,” 2009’s event will showcase the foremost names in Washington’s dining scene at the Mellon Auditorium, a historic Washingtonian landmark. Participating in Taste of the Nation since its inception 21 years ago, Chef Chair RJ Cooper of Vidalia is proud to lead the culinary community in uniting for this special evening.

Enjoy incredible samples from the premier top 40 restaurants of Washington, DC. Complimenting the evening's haute cuisine, guests can look forward to the new Wine Bar feature; serving wines from over 20 vineyards. Returning this year, the "Chocolate Factory" promises a sweet centerpiece to a decadent event with chocolate as far as the eye can see from the finest area pastry chefs, all accompanied by DJ entertainment.

This year's VIP section will launch its first interactive feature, as chef chair RJ Cooper will lead hands-on demonstrations with VIP ticket holders. Alongside Cooper, a selection of premier chefs will dazzle guests' palettes with exclusive dishes. At this intimate gathering, the area's top mixologists from DC Craft Bartenders Guild will serve select cocktails in a Speakeasy fashion
