Ping Pong Invites You to Cool Off this [Dim] Summer

Launching New Cocktails and Celebrations for the Dragon Boat Festival

Ping Pong Dim Sum welcomes the summer heat by offering new, refreshing cocktails for guests along with their new beer buckets, or “beer boats,” right in time for their Dragon Boat Festival celebrations this summer. Known globally for their modern take on traditional dim sum, Ping Pong sustains a reputation as one of the best summer happy hour spots in DC.

Launching June 11, Ping Pong adds new cocktails to the lineup, including the Tennessee Electric Tea, jacked-up with fresh lemon and coke and a mouth-numbing szechuan bud, and Lemon Curd, Pineapple & Lemon, with all the punch of a beachside bar rounded with butterscotch schnapps. What makes an Asian Manhattan Asian? Long, sweet notes of Gekkeikan plum wine. The new dark-liquored cocktails “with a twist” include Johnny Treacle, Tequila & Date Old Fashioned and Balsamic Rossini. Fear not, though, loyal Ping Pong patrons – the new menu will still have popular summer favorites like the Kumquat Mojito and the Lychee & Roses Martini

From June 25- July 7, Ping Pong will be breathing fire in honor of the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, a celebration of the moon when it is strongest during the summer solstice. This year, Ping Pong will host their own celebration with competitions and festivities to charge the competitive-dragon in guests.

For Closing Ceremonies on Saturday, July 7, both the Dupont and Chinatown locations will offer guests bottomless Realgar wine for $15 per person all day, which is a traditional drink of the Dragon Boat Festival. It will also be Dupont’s turn to the fire up the rubber duckies from noon-2pm, where guests can win prizes for playing in the miniature race.  More Dragon Boat events may be found on Ping Pong’s facebook pageand on the “What’s On” page at Ping Pong’s website.

Also, from now until August 6, Ping Pong is running the Get Stickered! campaign, where guests can ask their servers for a sticker and each time they come into Ping Pong wearing the sticker they will score a Tsingtao beer or Lychee & Roses martini for everyone in their party!

Ping Pong Dim Sum operates two locations in Washington, DC: the Chinatown restaurant is located at 900 7th Street NW and the Dupont Circle restaurant is located at 1 Dupont Circle NW.
