U Street wine destination Vinoteca continues to educate Washington on the world of wine with its new "Early Spring Wine Class Series". Led by Vinoteca sommelier and local winemaster Tim Galvin, the series of wine classes will explore the "paso-bilities" of Central CA's next "It' wine region, discover lesser-known American wine destinations, and explain why Pinot Noir is the "diva" of the wine world.

Since its opening five years ago, Vinoteca has always set out to be a place to not only enjoy, but learn about good wine and consistently hosts classes throughout the year. Its early spring wine classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7pm - 9pm in the restaurant's cozy upstairs lounge. Each intimate class will explore and pour 5 to 6 different wines, and also include food pairings from Executive Chef Lonnie Zoeller as well as a $5 gift card to come back and enjoy more wine at Vinoteca.

Tuesday, April 2: "USA! USA! USA! Wines from states other than California, Oregon, or Washington"

American wines receive their fair share of recognition, but Vinoteca is set out to showcase wines from states other than the well-known California, Oregon and Washington.

All wine classes are $40 per person plus tax and include a tasting of 5-6 wines, food pairings and a $5 gift card to the restaurant.

Space is very limited and reservations are encouraged as soon as possible as seats fill very quickly. To register for the class, please contact Vinoteca at (202) 332-9463 or at wine@vinotecadc.com.

ABOUT VINOTECA

Vinoteca opened its doors in November 2007, as the project of first-time restaurant owner Paul Carlson. Situated on the corner of 11th and U in the bustling U Street Corridor neighborhood, Vinoteca is a neighborhood bar and restaurant, offering an expansive and diverse wine and cocktail list, as well as a full menu by Executive Chef Lonnie Zoeller. Vinoteca is an establishment very squarely positioned as a cornerstone of the neighborhood, with both a staff and clientele that reflect the spirit of U Street.

In July 2010, The Plaza at Vinoteca, an outdoor courtyard, bar and bocce court, was built as an addition to Vinoteca. The Plaza is amongst DC's best outdoor bar experiences, with its old world European feel in an urban setting. Each day, the Plaza grill menu features a number of small plates, ranging from grilled fresh vegetables and seafood to burgers and sandwiches.
