Chef Competition at NoMa BID Annual Meeting

RAMMY Finalist Chefs Compete in First Ever Competitive Tasting

The NoMa Business Improvement District and Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington have teamed up to showcase the area’s rising culinary stars and top pastry chefs in the rapidly growing NoMa neighborhood.

The NoMa BID Annual Meeting is a fun, informative cocktail soiree that celebrates the achievements of the NoMa BID, and the neighbors and businesses it serves.  NoMa BID President Robin-Eve Jasper will give a synopsis of the organization’s successes over the past year and a sneak preview of the exciting new initiatives on the horizon.

Similar to the rest of Washington, the burgeoning neighborhood continues to evolve, adapting a nerdy, youthful energy. What better way to showcase this changing culture than with a friendly competition among the 2014 RAMMYS nominees for Rising Culinary Star and Pastry Chef?

Metropolitan Washington’s outstanding young chefs will battle against one another in a taste off  to prove to NoMa and its surrounding communities why they are considered the best of the best. Competing chefs include: Eric Bruner-Yang of Toki Underground, Tim Ma of Maple Avenue Restaurant/Water & Wall, Jason Gehrig of Menu/MBK & Table, Tom Wellings of Fiola and Caitlin Dysart of 2941 Restaurant. The people of NoMa will choose their favorite.
