Decatur House on Lafayette Square
The White House Historical Association offers FREE one-hour public tours of historic Decatur House every Monday, excluding holidays.*
Explore this historic home’s nearly 200-year history overlooking the president’s neighborhood of Lafayette Square and tour its slave quarters, one of only a few remaining examples of slave quarters in an urban setting.
Free and open to the public.
Tour Dates and Times: Mondays at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
*excluding October 13 and December 29.

We also have a gift shop, our White House History Shop, at Decatur House. The shop is open M-F 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on holidays).
We have an additional gift shop located in the White House Visitor Center at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. That location is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and New Year’s day). The Visitor Center is open the same hours.
