City Tap House, the new craft beer-focused restaurant located at 901 9th Street, NW, 20001, is celebrating National Beer Day on Monday, April 7th with rye infused beers, rye whiskey specialty cocktails and an abundance of specials from the kitchen. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a la carte dishes featured on City Tap House’s rustic American regional lunch and dinner menus along with suggested pairings of this Southern spirit.
Beer specials include Atlas Brew Works’ Rowdy, The Bruery's Sour In The Rye, Boulevard Brewing Co.'s Rye-on-Rye, Firestone Walker Brewing Co.’s Wookey Jack, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye, as well as Terrapin Beer Company’s Rye Pale Ale.
Beers ranges from $6 to $10 each.
Additionally, City Tap House’s mixologist Jo-Jo Valenzuela will offer both traditional and modern versions of classic rye whiskey cocktails including theSazerac, Manhattans and Old Fashioneds. Catoctin Creek, Knob Creek, Smooth Ambler Old Scout, Filibuster, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, and WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey will also available strait or on the rocks, which range from $9 to $16 for a neat pour.
For the perfect pairing, Culinary Director Brian Cooke and his culinary team will make homemade bread using rye malts from Atlas Brew Works' Rowdy and whip up their version of the popular French Dip sandwich. This dish is finished off with shaved beef ribeye, gruyère cheese, Filibuster Rye Whiskey mustard, Terrapin Rye au jus, and is served with duck fat fries for $13.
