Gallery 102 at The George Washington University is excited to announce Sensorium: The Art of Perception, opening December 1 and running for two weeks, until December 12.

On Thursday, December 4, from 6-8 PM, there will be a public reception with the artists: New York-based Talia Kirsh, Winner of the 2013 Phillips Collection Emerging Artist Prize Sijae Byun and GWU MFA Candidate Ryan McDonnell. The exhibition is a multi-sensory environment in which visitors are encouraged to explore the potentials of the human consciousness and unconsciousness. A space for both social engagement and intimate self-reflection, Sensorium is a respite from the chaos of everyday life, a source of inspiration, and an opportunity to learn about topics of wellness, alternative therapies and the imagination.

On Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5, Gallery 102 is pleased to host Sensorium: The Symposium. Free and open to the public, this event includes presentations by scholars from The George Washington University, Georgetown University and American University, as well as workshops led by yogis and practitioners from a variety of fields. The symposium is intended to offer multi-angled perspectives on topics of wellness and to create a dialogue within the broader DC-community about the diversity and availability of wellness.
