Honoring the Promise will bring together the heroes of the breast cancer movement for a celebratory evening of inspiration and world-class entertainment. The event will be hosted by Bob Schieffer, Moderator of CBS News' "Face the Nation," and Zoraida Sambolin, co-host of CNN's "Early Start."
Honoring the Promise both celebrates and recognizes the Komen community of survivors and supporters who share in the promise Nancy G. Brinker made to her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, to end breast cancer forever. Proceeds from Honoring the Promise are used to fund cutting edge national research efforts and community health programs in our National Capital Area, including a major project in Wards 7 and 8 of Southeast, D.C., which have the second-highest breast cancer mortality rates in the nation.
