ARCHITECTURE WEEK Closing Party: "Why Architecture & Preservation Matter"

Event Date:
Wednesday, April 29, 2015 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
RSVP Required
Cost:
$20.00

Join us at the District Architecture Center as we toast the close of Architecture Week. Tom Mayes, from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will lead us through an exploration of how and why the built environment, and especially our old buildings, matter.

Mayes has spent the past two years exploring why old places are good for people, and how they provide us with a sense of being part of a continuum that is necessary for psychological and emotional health.  He will share his discoveries and some of the surprising things he’s learned, all while posing the question, “Why do old buildings matter to you?”

We will also announce the winners of the 2015 Unbuilt Awards.
