On Saturday, September 12, the fourth installation of DC’s largest craft beer festival, Snallygaster, will return to Yards Park.

Named for the fearsome and mythical dragon-like beast said to terrorize the region at the turn of the century, Snallygaster is a craft beer festival from the team behind ChurchKey, Birch & Barley, Bluejacket, Rustico and more.

This year, they will tap no fewer than 300 unique craft beers from around the globe against a backdrop of fine food, live music and entertainment all at the Capital Riverfront from 1 PM to 6 PM.

Rare Essence, Kokayi, White Ford Bronco, Brothers Brau and more will be taking the stage and providing entertainment from start to finish.

Snallygaster (located at Lot H/I on First St SE & N St SE) benefits Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture.

Once again, beer director Greg Engert is reaching new heights with more than 300 brews on tap, all sourced from the finest local, domestic and international craft brewers. Guests can expect to find nearly 50 brews making their DC debut at Snallygaster 2015, dozens of vintage beers, more than 75 barrel-aged brews and sour ales, a wide array of autumnal releases, a deep list of German-style and German-inspired beers, a slew of craft cans, plus cask ales and Franconian gravity-poured/rubber-clad kegs. The list includes Perennial Barrel-Aged Abraxas, Allagash Ghoulschip, Bluejacket Whiskey Barrel-Aged Double Mexican Radio, Firestone Walker Feral One (Batch 2), The Bruery Grey Monday, Alpine Beer Nelson and Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus. Engert is adding new beers to the ever-expanding list daily. To access the current list, visit www.snallygasterdc.com.

A variety of dishes and snacks from freshly shucked oysters, tacos and lobster rolls to wood-fire pizza, doughnuts and sausages will be provided from area food trucks and vendors. Snallygaster’s food participants include Rappahannock Oyster Co, Dolcezza, Big Cheese, Tasty Kabob, DC Slices, GBD, Red Apron, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Pork Barrel BBQ, Westray’s Ice Cream, Cajunators, DC Empanada, Lemongrass, and Mess Hall.

On the music stage, local popular musicians and DJ’s will be providing entertainment throughout the event. Featured acts include Rare Essence, Kokayi, White Ford Bronco, Brothers Brau and more, all hosted by Tyler Fyre. In addition, Split is hosting a Block Party with a Let’s Build and Let’s Play zones complete with building blocks, cornhole, Twister, giant Connect 4 and more, while Arcadia Farm & their Mobile Market will host a kid-friendly zone with face painting and games.

Advance tickets to Snallygaster are still available at www.snallygasterdc.com. The Gargoyle at $35 includes 1PM entry through will-call, admission, 30 food + drink tickets, and a custom Snallygaster 2015 beer mug and the Kraken (VIP) at $60 includes early entry at 11 AM through will-call, admission, 30 food + drink tickets, and a custom Snallygaster 2015 beer mug.

On September 12, those that do not have advance tickets will be asked to pay a $10 donation at the door to benefit Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture. Food and beverage tickets will be sold separately ($1 = 1 ticket) with items costing on average between 5 and 9 tickets (beers will also be offered in tasting portions for 3 – 6 tickets). Children (14 and under) accompanied by a parent will be admitted at no cost.
