Urbana Restaurant and Wine Bar
URBANA 2016-2017 COOKING DEMO SERIES
Modern Italian Restaurant Continues Donations Benefitting the Italian Red Cross with Pasta Proceeds
Urbana will bring the modern Italian restaurant’s popular cooking demonstrations with Executive Chef Ethan McKee back to its wood-fired oven. Showcasing handmade pastas and Italian classics, attendees will learn to make such seasonal delights as pumpkin tortelli with sage butter, gemelli with taleggio cream and pancetta, and polenta with roasted quail, house-made pancetta and figs.
Urbana has celebrated the Italian and Mediterranean cultures since its opening in 2006. When the devastating earthquake hit Italy in late August, Chef McKee and the Urbana team rallied together to create an #EatForItaly menu. From August 27 through September 3, 100% of the proceeds from these bar and food specials went towards relief efforts, which resulted in over $1500. Urbana continues to donate $1 to the Italian Red Cross for every order of the bucatini amatriciana (a popular dish from Amatrice), and is dedicated to doing so for the remainder of 2016. In select cooking demo classes, Chef McKee will show how he makes his bucatini.
