El Centro D.F. Celebrates National Tequila Day on Sunday, July 24th  

WHAT:        Known for its impressive tequila collection with over 250 tequilas, Richard Sandoval’s vibrant Taqueria and Tequileria, El Centro D.F., with locations on 14th Street and in Georgetown, will be celebrating National Tequila Day at both locations on Sunday, July 24th.  Patrons will enjoy exclusive happy hour specials, which will be available from 4 PM to Closing on the main floor and the rooftop.  Guests can enjoy $5 featured libations, which include bottled beers such as Dos XX Lager, Dos XX Ambar, Tecate, Tecate Light, Corona, and Corona Light, as well as house red and white wine and signature cocktails such as the El Centro Margarita with house-made strawberry and mango puree and Spiked Watermelon Agua Fresca.  Additionally, guests who purchase a custom El Centro shot glass, priced at $5, will receive a complimentary 1.5-ounce pour of Patrón XO Café.

For the perfect pairing, diners can enjoy Ancho Rubbled Lamb Ribs, slow roasted Colorado lamb with chimichurri verde and black bean plum salsa and Crispy Masa Calamari with tajin, pickled mango, chile cascabel salsa, jalapeno aioli, and charred lemon from El Centro’s Destination: Mexico City menu.  Dishes off this menu are priced from $7.95 to $24.75.

WHY:          El Centro D.F. offers a diverse selection of over 250 tequilas, including blancos, reposados, anejos, premium, micro and infused options ranging in price from $8 to $200.  A vertical tasting is available for $25, which features tequilas made with different aging techniques. A horizontal tasting comparing three tequilas made by different distilleries is another option with prices ranging from $18 to $32.  In addition, a micro-tequila tasting can be enjoyed for $35, as well as a premium tasting of three high-end tequilas for $75.  For those seeking an alternative to traditional tequila, the menu at El Centro D.F. features over 45 different mezcals ranging from $8 to $43, as well as a mezcal tasting highlighting three unique selections for $21. 

Infused tequilas are also available, and include such flavors as strawberry-basil infused 100% agave tequila; watermelon & cucumber infused 100% agave tequila; pineapple & habanero infused 100% agave tequila; grilled pineapple infused 100% agave tequila; cilantro infused 100% agave tequila; tamarind infused 100% agave tequila; guava infused 100% agave tequila; rosemary infused 100% agave tequila; Granny Smith green apple infused 100% agave tequila, as well as strawberry chile infused 100% agave tequila.  A tasting of three of the house infused tequilas is also available for $21.  Frozen margaritas will also be available throughout the restaurant along with house-made sodas.  Margaritas are priced at $9 a glass, $22 for a half-carafe and $40 for a full carafe.
