It's definitely hip to be square!

It's that time of year -- the days are getting shorter, the nights are getting darker, soon the trees will be bare. There's only one thing to do about it -- dance our hearts out!

This month we're super excited to have local caller Caroline Barnes making her DC Square Dance debut. Also making his debut is local fiddler Alexander Mitchell, who's pulled together an all-star band for us, with John Devine on guitar, Joe Hermann on fiddle and banjo and Joe Fallon on bass. Clear your calendar and join us on November 4th for what's sure to be an extra-rocking, extra-long (clocks fall forward) night!

All are welcome – young and old, brand new and experienced dancers. No partner, lessons, overalls, or fancy dress needed!

Time: Doors at 8:00 pm; Dancing from 8:30 to 11:30 pm.

RSVP on Facebook (optional!)

Admission: $5 cash or check at the door - sorry, no credit cards.

Snacks and drinks to share are welcomed.

Folks from outside the neighborhood, we recommend taking the metro! St. Stephens is a short walk from the Columbia Heights station on the green/yellow line. For drivers, there is a garage below the mall on Park Rd. at 14th St, or you may be able to find street parking.

This dance is sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.
