DC Square Dance Collective is pleased to invite you to a traditional Appalachian old-time square dance. Used to be that square dancing could be found in almost any American city or town, danced by young and old, black and white, urban and rural folks alike. Today, it's making a comeback as folks re-discover the sheer joy of a foot-stomping, rollicking, barn-shaking dance party.

All are welcome – young and old, brand new and experienced dancers. No partner, lessons, overalls, or fancy dress needed!

Time: Doors at 8:00 pm; Dancing from 8:30 to 11:30 pm.

RSVP on Facebook (optional!)

Admission: $5 cash or check at the door - sorry, no credit cards.

Snacks and drinks to share are welcomed.

Folks from outside the neighborhood, we recommend taking the metro! St. Stephens is a short walk from the Columbia Heights station on the green/yellow line. For drivers, there is a garage below the mall on Park Rd. at 14th St, or you may be able to find street parking.

This dance is sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.
