About
Mercury Soul--a "swirling, genre-busting musical extravaganza" (San Francisco Chronicle) organized by Mason and conductor Benjamin Shwartz--kicks off the newKC Jukebox season with an immersive 360° experience that blends classical music, DJing, and imaginative stagecraft. Music by composer-violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain opens the concert; Roumain additionally plays violin with Mason during electronica segments of the program, which also includes a drum 'n' bass–inspired percussion trio by Mason and works by two 20th-century masters, Stravinsky and Adams. Mingle and dance, grab a signature cocktail (Belvedere Grapefruit Greyhound) from the cash bar, and enjoy the vibe as Mason, a.k.a. DJ Masonic, keeps the party spinning in this high-energy classical rave.
Please Note: This performance uses strobe lighting effects.
