Hillyer Art Space presents the opening of two new solo exhibitions featuring Rikke Kühn Riegels and Dominie Nash; and Nordic Stars, featuring the brightest illustration artists from Estonia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
Riegls’s In A State of Impermanence will feature a series of paintings of architectural models and landscapes that reflect on the question of spatial construction and the fragility of our surroundings. Nash’s Recombination uses a combination of two or more of original prints: layered, cut through, collaged, and stitched. The originals are retained but transformed into an innovative creation.
NordicStars is a curated exhibition featuring eight Nordic illustration artists bringing into focus the artist’s interpretation of sources of inspiration in contemporary fashion. Guests can meet the artists and curator at the reception on Friday, May 6th from 6-9pm, during Dupont Circle’s First Friday Gallery Walk, sponsored by Bourbon DC.
