Award-Winning Whiskey Destination Celebrates Derby Day with Craft Juleps, Complimentary Kentucky-Inspired Cuisine, Race Viewing on Rooftop Terrace and Underground Viewing Party at Dram & Grain
Almost like watching from Churchill Downs,Jack Rose Dining Saloon will once again be DC's premiere destination for Kentucky Derby festivities on Saturday, May 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. On the sunny rooftop terrace, guests and race fanatics are invited to don their finest derby attire at the bar’s 5th Annual Kentucky Derby Celebration + Viewing Party, complete with mint juleps and derby punches, complimentary Southern bites, Kentucky bourbon flights, and a live viewing of the 2017 Run for the Roses.
For those looking to celebrate in proper Derby form, Jack Rose will offer drink specials on refreshing Mint Juleps ($9), Derby Punch ($8) and Classic Bourbon Cocktails ($10), along with whiskeys, Kentucky bourbon flights curated by owner Bill Thomas, and cigars throughout the day.
Jack Rose will pass complimentary Derby-inspired snacks such as Kentucky Hot Browns and Cucumber Sandwiches to hungry guests. And those looking forward to the big race (post-time is scheduled for 6:34 p.m.) can watch alfresco on five large flat screen TVs located throughout the rooftop terrace and Tiki bars.
And for those looking for a more intimate viewing experience, Dram & Grain will play host to an underground viewing party from 4-7 p.m. featuring Derby-themed specialty cocktails. Though open to the public and free to attend, reservations are highly suggested to secure seats in the 20-seat cocktail den, and can be made by texting (202) 607-1572. From 7-9 p.m., Dram & Grain will be open to walk-in guests who would like to enjoy cocktails at the bar.
