FEATURING JOHN SHIELDS, PBS HOST, COOKBOOK AUTHOR AND RESTAURATEUR
Join Wildfire, Tysons Galleria, 3rd floor, McLean, VA, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, for a special evening with John Shields, author of Chesapeake Bay Cooking, host of the PBS series Coastal Cooking, and owner of the renowned Gertrude’s in Baltimore, as he shares his passion for the Chesapeake region and its outstanding cuisine. There will also be a second dinner at John Shields’ restaurant Gertrude’s, 10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD, on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
This annual event includes the opportunity to work alongside John as he leads guests through the technique of opening their own steamed Maryland Blue Crab. Shields will also offer tips on selecting and cooking the different parts of the Chesapeake’s legendary crustacean. The crab picking will be followed by three more courses created and prepared by Wildfire Executive Chef Moreno Espinoza and Gertrude’s Executive Chef Doug Wetzel and showcasing crab in a variety of uses, each paired with a beer from Evolution Craft Brewing Co. in Salisbury, MD.
