When the month of April rolls around, it's time to take Crawfish eatin’ seriously. Crawfish Boils were cool before the pop-culture craze of anything Southern became a trend. Any New Orleanian knows that the first signs of spring begin with the kick off of festival season from French Quarter Fest to Jazz Fest. Bringing in the biggest, juiciest, plumpest mudbugs up from the waterways of Louisiana, two Southern-inspired restaurants in the DC area will be boiling up crawfish in true N’awlins fashion.

Chef David Guas, the only native Crescent City chef in DC, is bringin' the authentic flavors of New Orleans to Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery in Arlington, VA for his annual Crawfish Boil series.  Starting on Saturday, April 22 from 4-6PM, they'll be boilin’ ‘em bright red. In the words of the great NOLA band, The Radiators, get ready for “suckin’ the heads and squeezin’ the tips” -- all set to LIVE music by N’awlins-born musician Nick Adde. Get the $35 bundle -- Louisiana Crawfish with Corn on the Cob, peppery New Potatoes, Coleslaw, Mini Muff-a-lottas, and Cornbread. Clean platers can come back up for a second helping while supplies last. If Crawfish ain’t for ya, try Jumbo Gulf Shrimp with Taters and Corn sold by the pound. In the “spirit” of Louisiana, the eatery will have BIG specials from Abita beer with $15 pitchers and $5 drafts. If interested in attending head over to the Facebook Event to RSVP.
