Washington, D.C.’s first event concept highlighting young artists will return for its second event on Saturday, February 4. The event collaborative implores visual artists, musicians, designers, and filmmakers to interpret prompts and create an interactive live art experience for guests. “Our first event proved that there was a serious appetite for a different kind of night out. We are looking to take things to the next level with more interactive experiences for attendees to learn about D.C.’s top innovators,” says Kareem Malek, co-founder of Fathom.
Matthew Curry, the twice Grammy-nominated designer, headlines the event, and provides a familiar face for D.C.’s visual arts scene. Muralist Matt Corrado, local designer Kasey O’Boyle, artist Merima Repesa, and others will cultivate their craft throughout the night, and dazzle attendees with their live art presentations. Nigerian musician DAP will perform a hip-hop set, and filmmaker Umit Gulsen will make use of Angelika’s movie theaters for an immersive visual display. The full list of artists can be found here: www.fathomdc.com/
Fathom is an emerging platform dedicated to empowering young local artists by displaying their work to the community through immersive experiences and interactive events, or "experiments". Through an upcoming series of events, Fathom will seek to bridge the gap between the city’s vibrant music, arts, and culture scene.
