Bar Rouge (In Kimpton's DC Hotel Rouge)
Kimpton’s Bar Rouge invites Washingtonians to show off their pumpkin carving skills at the bar’s Pumpkin Carving Contest!
The lounge will set up carving stations throughout the space and provide a limited number of pre-scooped pumpkins as well as safe carving tool kits. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., pumpkins will be distributed to patrons. Pumpkins are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, so guests should be sure to arrive early.
Participants will have until 8:00 p.m. to carve the pumpkins, at which point the winner will be announced. The winner of “Most Glamorous Gourd” (best overall design) will receive a $50 bar credit to Bar Rouge. The winning pumpkin will be displayed in the bar all night.
During the pumpkin carving, patrons can enjoy seasonal drinks including Autumn Camouflage featuring Dewar’s Scratched Cask, Green Chartreuse, honey, apple and pumpkin spice ($8) as well as seasonal beers ($5). Happy Hour prices will be offered for the duration of the event until 9:00 p.m., including $6 mixed drinks, $5 beers and $9 wine.
For those already booked trick or treating and unable to compete, Kimpton Rouge Hotel’s front desk will be passing out candy to children in costume.
