Take Metro! Black Cat is located just three blocks from the U Street/Cardozo Metro Station.

By popular request, we're going to try a '90s theme! We've never had a decade theme before, but there's a first time for everything, and the summer seems like a particularly good time to try it out, right?

Post your top song ideas in the comment thread here and put a "like" on ones you want to sing. You can also submit songs via email or on the website (apcdc.weebly.com).

GUIDELINES FOR SONG SUGGESTIONS:
You have until 5pm on Thursday 8/17 to submit ideas for songs that were released in the 1990s! We've done a lot of songs from the '90s (see apcdc.weebly.com/song-archive.html for a list of songs from previous lists), so we'll give extra special preference to songs we've never had on a list. Whip out those ideas for songs you really want to sing that haven't fit a theme! Also, we're going to try and hit a couple of songs that were released in every year of the 1990s, and this month might have more submissions than usual, so let's be a bit selective. :)

We'll be Backstage (downstairs) at Black Cat DC on 14th Street this month! The bar opens at 6:30pm, and singing will start at 7:15pm. Questions? Shoot us a message or email apeopleschoirdc@gmail.com.

p.s. Save the date for the September sing-along: September 28 at DC9 Nightclub.

For those of you wondering what this is all about:

A People's Choir DC is a casual sing-along. It isn't a performance; it's a group effort. We play the actual songs (not the vocal-less karaoke version), and you can stand around or sit or dance...and sing.

If you don't know a song, no worries - make up the tune as you go or just sit it out. There is no sheet music at A People's Choir, only song lyrics, which we'll provide (on music videos and a few paper copies).

We don't care about your singing ability, just your enthusiasm - and we're pretty flexible in that area as well. Just show up and enjoy yourself! It's free.

Like the page (/APeoplesChoirDC) or join the email list (see http://apcdc.weebly.com/contact.html) to get updates on events! DC's choir is based off of the original Portland choir, which you can also check out on Facebook (/APeoplesChoir).
