Vinoteca’s Tuesday Night Wine Class Series, Exploring Mid-Atlantic Vineyards, “Weird” Wines, Springtime Rosés, Global Pinots and Cheese + Wine Pairings
U Street wine destination gives wine lovers a tasty education with five-class biweekly series featuring food pairings.

U Street wine destination Vinotecacontinues to educate Washingtonians on the world of wine with its new series of Tuesday night wine classes for the late winter/early spring season. Kicking off on February 21, the five-class series will explore Mid-Atlantic vineyards, “weird” wines, springtime rosés, global Pinots and even the art of pairing cheese and wine, led by Vinoteca’s sommelier Kate Chrisman.

Since its opening almost 10 years ago, Vinoteca has always set out to be a place to not only enjoy, but learn about good wine and consistently hosts educational classes throughout the year. Its early spring wine classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm in the restaurant’s cozy upstairs lounge. Each intimate class will explore and pour four to six different wines, and also include bites from Executive Chef Anna Miller, designed to pair with the wines from each country and region.

Tuesday, April 18th -- Pinot Please!
From zippy Pinot Gris from the Pacific Northwest, to the textural Pinot Blanc of Germany, to the ever-elegant Pinot Noir of Burgundy, Vinoteca loves Pinot! Chrisman will be discussing the intertwined family of Pinot grapes and tasting guests on delicious examples from around the globe. Full class info and tickets here.

All wine classes are $50 per person plus tax and include a tasting of 4-6 wines and food pairings. Space is very limited with only 18 seats per class, and reservations are encouraged as soon as possible as seats fill very quickly.

ABOUT VINOTECA
Vinoteca opened its doors in November 2007, as the project of first-time restaurant owner Paul Carlson. Situated on the corner of 11th and U in the bustling U Street Corridor neighborhood, Vinoteca is a neighborhood bar and restaurant, offering an expansive and diverse wine and cocktail list, as well as seasonal brunch and dinner fare. Vinoteca is an establishment very squarely positioned as a cornerstone of the neighborhood, with both a staff and clientele that reflect the spirit of U Street.

In July 2010, The Plaza at Vinoteca, an outdoor courtyard, bar and bocce court, was built as an addition to Vinoteca. The Plaza is amongst DC's best outdoor bar experiences, with its old world European feel in an urban setting. Each day, the Plaza grill menu features a number of small plates, ranging from grilled fresh vegetables and seafood to burgers and sandwiches.
