Five Courses to celebrate Chef Christophe Poteaux’s milestone year
March is Chef Christophe Poteaux’s birthday month. It’s a milestone birthday this year—he’s turning 50. What better way to celebrate the Chef’s birthday than with a lavish dinner? On Wednesday, March 21st at 6:00, Chef/owners Christophe & Michelle Poteaux of Bastille offer a five-course $99 prix fixe menu paired with wines for this very festive 50th birthday celebration.
The evening begins with Kir Royal and passed hors d’oeuvres (6pm-7pm). Dinner begins at 7:15 and includes Le Foie Gras Torchon--roasted fruits, pain d’épices French toast and mache paired with Late Harvest Riesling, Brooks Tethys, Willamette Valley 2015; La Plancha de Banyuls--head-on prawn, octopus and calamari with a salad of baby artichokes, fennel, oranges, carrots and micro herbs with Domaine de la Janasse, Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2015; La pièce de Boeuf--Creekstone prime beef strip loin, classic Bordelaise sauce, royal trumpet, turnips and cipoline onions withClos Beauregard, Pomerol 2012; Le Fromage--Brillat-Savarin with strawberry, fruit & nut bread paired with François Montand “Ice” Methode Traditionnelle, Demi-Sec NV. The meal will end with Le Dessert~California Dreaming--Valrhona white chocolate & lime crèmeux, ruby red grapefruit, olive oil, almonds and avocado ice cream with a cocktail of Fizzy Lizzy Ruby grapefruit, tequila, lime and bubbles, served on the rocks.
While the ‘birthday boy’ may be cooking in the kitchen, guests can celebrate right along with him. Noisemakers and party hats optional.
Bastille is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 am until 10 pm and Sunday 11:30 am until 9 pm serving brunch, lunch, dinner and all day dining with café and bar menu offered.
