Three huge reasons to come:
1. Check out the brand-new Union Stage venue and their happy hour offerings.
2. Hear the backstories behind some of the best local journalism produced in 2017.
3. Meet the team behind 730DC!

At 7 pm, we'll have everyone settle into their seats for lightning talks by three awesome journalists who wrote some of our favorite stories of 2017:

- Ally Schweitzer at WAMU, who wrote about the myth that no one's from here (https://wamu.org/story/17/10/19/says-no-ones-d-c-not-black-washingtonians/)
- Tanvi Misra at CityLab, who wrote about how one apartment building serves as a microcosm for the whole city (https://www.citylab.com/equity/2017/06/the-neighborhood-inside-one-building/528516/)
- Rachel Sadon, from DCist, who wrote about gentrification on a Columbia Heights soccer field (http://dcist.com/2017/07/on_a_columbia_heights_soccer_field.php)

Following their presentations, Bryce Rudow (randomnerds.com) will moderate a panel + q&a on DC's local journalism scene.
