For July's sing-along, we're celebrating nighttime*!
The list will include songs with night, evening, sundown, etc. featured in the title, and/or included prominently and repeatedly in the lyrics.
You can submit your song ideas on the website (apcdc.weebly.com) or in the comment thread below. Deadline: Friday, July 6, 11:59 PM ET.
If we've had a song on a list in the last 12 months (e.g., Summer Nights, Can You Feel The Love Tonight), we probably won't sing it again this month. There's an archive of songs here, if you're curious: http://apcdc.weebly.com/song--theme-archive.html
We'll be up on the second floor DC9 Nightclub. Singing starts around 7:30pm, but come early to enjoy the roof and happy hour. The big, sliding door halfway to the roof should be open around 7:00pm. Bring friends, or come alone. We'll display music videos with lyrics. No singing abilities necessary!
*The sun won't actually go down until just before 8:30 PM that night, but we'll just sing it to sleep for the first hour. That's how the sun works, right?

For those of you wondering what this is all about:
A People's Choir DC is a casual sing-along. It isn't a performance; it's a group effort. We play the actual songs (not the karaoke version, without the vocals), with lyrics on the music videos, and you can stand around or sit or dance...and sing.
If you don't know a song, no worries - make up the tune as you go or just sit it out. There is no sheet music at A People's Choir, only song lyrics, which we'll provide (on music videos and a few paper copies).
We don't care about your singing ability, just your enthusiasm - and we're pretty flexible in that area as well. Just show up and enjoy yourself! It's free. 21+. Note: This show takes place up one flight of stairs; please send us a message if you have questions about accessibility.
