Lotta Lobster Love at The Palm

Sure, the Palm Restaurant is perhaps best known for its thick, juicy prime-aged steaks that have been pleasing customers for generations. But this summer, it’s serving up a jumbo lobster special that is sure to make you swoon anew. Through August 31st, you and a friend can enjoy a 4-pound Nova Scotia lobster with melted butter and fresh lemon, plus two starters and two sides, for $99 (tax and gratuity not included.) 

We recently got the opportunity to try the special and savored this last taste of summer. We started with the tender Baby Arugula Salad (a bed of fresh baby arugula, topped with ruby red sliced strawberries, crunchy candied walnuts, and crumbly feta cheese, all lightly tossed in a tangy raspberry vinaigrette) and the rich Lobster Bisque  (a mound of fresh lobster meat, drenched tableside with a cream and sherry-based elixir). (Purists rejoice--another starter option is the Palm’s classic Caesar salad.)

The steamed lobster, served split for two, was stunningly large yet still succulent. Staying neat and tidy was easy, since the Palm’s courteous wait staff assisted in extracting the delicate sweet meat from the jumbo lobster’s claws. To accompany the lobster, you can choose from any of the Palm’s classic sides, including its well-known hash brown potatoes or its creamy goat cheese whipped potatoes.
