The fall leaves are, well, falling, freezing weather is creeping in but, despite the shorter days and vitamin D deficit, here comes the bright (alas artificial) lights and decorations. Can only mean one thing--the holidays are officially upon us! And in DC, that means parties, shopping, wine, shopping parties with wine... (you get the idea).
Some events that we’ll be sure not to miss include Zoolights, National Tree Lighting Ceremony, and the Annual District Holiday Gala. After you’ve recovered from the Thanksgiving food coma (or OD’d on family time) and are ready for some retail therapy, there’s no shortage of local options for your Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and beyond! Our local picks: Cady’s Alley Season Long Holiday Bazaar (photo #1), Current Boutique’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and the Downtown Holiday Market!
With all of the running around from store to store, party to party, or all on the same day, we need all the help we can get. When racing from work to evening events with no time to iron (or just hate ironing, admit it!), Downy Wrinkly Releaser Plus, works like a charm! Another “Plus?” It doubles as a crease remover for drapes, pillowcases, and tablecloths. For hours spent at the mall or the many area shopping districts, Dr. Scholl’s® Massaging Gel® FIT insoles, provide welcome heel support for both casual and dress shoes.
Have multiple holiday parties, but don’t want to commit to purchasing multiple dresses? Then just Rent the Runway (yes, really). And now that the online phenomenon has opened its second and largest freestanding store in Georgetown (photos #2 & #3; credit: Joy Ascio), finding the perfect dress and accessories has never been easier! Finally, if the thought of leaving the house to shop is just too much to bear, then shop online with the Goodshop website or app, and donate a portion of your purchase to your favorite charity. Shop with them on Goodshop Sunday, November 30, when many retailers will be doubling donations and offering special deals!
Keep checking GregsListDC.com for more events and happenings. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
